FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?
Located in Loretto, Minnesota, Saints Peter and Paul have the best of both worlds: We are in a rural setting, but with close access to the Twin Cities (Downtown Minneapolis is about 35 minutes away).
If you are coming from Minneapolis, you can either take Olson Memorial Highway/Highway 55 westbound all the way out, or you can take I-394 west to I-494 north to Highway 55. We are located about a half mile south of Highway 55 on Route 19.

What are the school hours?
Students arrive at school between 8:05 - 8:15 AM, school begins at 8:25 AM with daily Mass at 8:30. Dismissal is at 3:15 PM

Do my children need to be Catholic to attend the Academy?
No. The Academy of Saints Peter and Paul welcomes students and parents of many different faiths. However, all students receive instruction in the Catholic faith and attend daily school Mass.

How much is tuition, and are scholarships available?
The Academy is very fortunate to have an extremely supportive parish. Our tuition rates are among the lowest in the archdiocese of Minneapolis and St. Paul; this is made possible through the generous donations of our parishioners and our Lift Up a Child to God scholarship program. No child will be denied an education at the Academy due to finances. Please click here to view our registration and tuition information. If you are interested in applying for tuition assistance, please click here or contact Lynn Scholtes in the parish office at (763) 479-0535.

When can I register?
Registration for the 2010-2011 school year opens on January 25th, 2010 for all students that are currently enrolled. New students may begin registration on January 31st, 2010. Is transportation provided for Academy students?
Students who live in the Delano School District will be transported to and from school via Delano Public School buses. At this time, the Rockford School District uses a transportation reimbursement system rather than offering the use of their buses. Yes. Students in kindergarten through eighth grade wear uniforms. Preschool students do not wear uniforms, but preschool T-shirts are available for purchase. The Academy has a uniform exchange program where parents can select polo shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters, vests, pants, skirts, and jumpers free of charge. Uniforms may also be purchased through the school. Please check the Uniform Policies and Ordering Page for more information.

Are there volunteer opportunities?
Our school is blessed to have the support of many faithful volunteers who continually contribute to the success of Saints Peter and Paul Church and Academy. Within each grade level, there are opportunities available for parents and friends who wish to share their time and talents to aid the school, staff, and students. Anyone wishing to volunteer within the school must undergo a background check and VIRTUS training. Please call the school office for more information on volunteering opportunities (763) 479-0540.
